How to play Treasures of Aztec: rules, paytable and the frame trick
You can learn this game in one session. The controls are simple. The depth hides in two places: the symbol frames and the bonus multiplier. This page walks through all of it, in the order you'll meet it on screen.
The board
Six reels. The height of each reel changes every spin, which is why the ways-to-win counter jumps between 2,025 and 32,400. You win by landing 3 or more matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost one. No payline charts to study.
After any win, the winning symbols are removed and new ones tumble down from above. That's a cascade. Cascades keep going as long as new wins keep forming, and each one raises the spin multiplier: x1, x2, x3 and so on. The multiplier resets when the spin finally ends (in the base game; the bonus is different, more below).
Step by step: your first real spin
- Pick a casino with PG Soft and open the game. Our shortlist →
- Set your bet. The range runs from about ₱10 to ₱1,300 per spin depending on the casino's currency settings.
- Hit spin. Symbols land, the ways counter shows your active ways.
- Any win triggers a cascade. Watch the multiplier badge climb with each tumble.
- The spin ends when no new win forms. Winnings are credited, multiplier resets, next spin.
Autoplay is available if you want to set 50 or 100 spins with a loss limit. Turbo mode speeds up the tumble animation. Both live in the settings panel next to the spin button.
The paytable: what each symbol pays
Values below are multiples of your total bet for a 6-of-a-kind win. Shorter combinations pay less; the in-game paytable has the full ladder.
| Symbol | 6 on a line |
|---|---|
| 🏆 Gold mask | 8x |
| 🔴 Red mask | 7x |
| 🌸 Pink mask | 6x |
| 🟣 Purple stone | 3x |
| 🔵 Blue stone | 1.5x |
| 🟢 Green stone | 1.5x |
| A, K | 1x |
| Q, J, 10 | 0.4x |
Looks small? That's by design. The base values are modest because the real money comes from stacking them with cascade multipliers and wilds. An 8x mask win at a x6 multiplier is 48x. In the bonus round the same line at x20 is 160x.
The wild is the Aztec priestess. She substitutes for every paying symbol but has no payout of her own. The scatter is the game's bonus symbol; it pays nowhere on the board and exists only to trigger free spins.
Wilds on the Way: the silver and gold frames
This is the mechanic that separates Treasures of Aztec from generic tumble slots.
On reels 2–5, random symbols land wearing a silver frame. If that framed symbol is part of a win, it doesn't vanish with the rest.
It transforms into a new random symbol wearing a gold frame. The frame doesn't change the symbol's value — yet.
Win with the gold-framed symbol and it converts into a wild, which stays for the next cascade and connects combinations that had no business existing.
So a single lucky board can run: silver frame wins → gold frame appears → gold frame wins → wild lands → wild links a 5-symbol mask line at a x4 cascade multiplier. Chains like that are where the big screenshots come from.
A board with 3+ silver frames and no win is worthless. Frames only matter when cascades are flowing. Don't chase boards, chase chains.
Free spins: the round that decides your session
Trigger: 4 scatter symbols in one spin sequence. You get 10 free spins, and each scatter beyond the fourth adds 2 more.
Inside the bonus, the multiplier rules change in your favor:
- It starts at x2 instead of x1.
- It grows by +x2 after every winning cascade (instead of +x1).
- It never resets. Dead spins don't touch it. It only goes up.
This compounding is the engine of the game. A bonus that starts slow can still finish huge, because spin 9 might land a mask line at x16. The math is why patient players treat every bonus entry as the real event and the base game as the price of admission.
Extra scatters during the bonus add spins, extending the runway for the multiplier to climb.
Settings worth knowing
Bet sizing. The coin/bet panel adjusts in steps. Find the step closest to 1% of your session bankroll; ₱2,000 bankroll means ₱20 spins. More on this in strategies →
Autoplay limits. Set a stop-on-loss before launching autoplay. The game will halt when your balance drops by the chosen amount.
Turbo. Speeds up animation only. It doesn't change odds, RTP, or the number of spins per bonus. It does make you burn bankroll faster per hour, so use it consciously.
Left-hand mode and sound. Both togglable in the menu. The soundtrack is decent jungle percussion, but it tells you nothing the screen doesn't.
Common beginner mistakes
Betting up after a bonus. The bonus paid 80x and the brain whispers "hot streak". The game has no memory. Each spin is an independent RNG draw.
Quitting 5 minutes after a bonus. Same error, mirrored. Scatters aren't "recharging". Quit based on your time and loss limits, never on superstition about cycles.
Ignoring the demo. Every mechanic on this page is free to verify. The demo → costs nothing and pays in avoided mistakes.
Playing wagering bonuses at max bet. Many casinos cap the allowed bet while a bonus is active, often around ₱250. Exceeding it can void winnings. Read the terms before you raise stakes.
FAQ
How do I trigger free spins faster?
You can't. Scatter frequency is fixed in the math model. No bet size, time of day, or "lucky room" changes it. Anyone selling a trigger trick is selling fiction.
Do bigger bets improve RTP?
No. RTP is 96.71% at every stake. Bigger bets mean bigger swings, same expected return.
What's the most valuable symbol?
The gold mask at 8x for six. But the priestess wild is what you actually want to see, since she completes lines that multiply across 32,400 ways.
Can the multiplier reset during free spins?
No. That's the whole point of the bonus. It holds through dead spins and only increases.
Is there a buy-bonus option?
Not in this title. PG Soft ships some games with buy features; Treasures of Aztec isn't one of them.
